  3. WEBSITE: No changes, waiting for Memorial Day video from Jim Ritter to post on website.
  4. DISCUSSION:

Design of additional panels at the memorial: Budget cost $160,000.

Names added to the memorial: All nineteen names and corrected letters have been completed.

Memorial Day Ceremony 2024: Consensus is to keep the program under the pavilion with provision to walk outside to view the flag raising.  Continue to feature those veterans and families of loved ones who died in service, possibly recognizing Gold Star Mothers in our area during the program.  Received many kudos for the speakers remarks and the solemn theme of the program.

A Navy vet approached D Keller to volunteer his service to help the committee.

Raising money for additional panels: Discussed how to approach fundraising for the new addition. D Keler suggested developing a plan with a completion date and a timeline of significant milestones for fundraising events, letters to previous donors, foundations, banks and businesses.  We need to develop a letter and plan to advertise our intentions.

A parade to celebrate America’s 250th on July 4th 2026 that would end at the Memorial site was suggested by S Bachman.  This will be factored into our planned events for fundraising.

Write a “Thankyou Letter” for Marty Bennicoff to recognize his volunteering to provide the sound system for the three Memorial Day programs we’ve had.

  1. NEXT MEETING: August 2, 2024 at 6PM – 8 Oaks
  2. ADJOURN: Motion to adjourn by J Bachman, 2nd E Handwerk
