Northwestern Lehigh Veterans Memorial Hometown Heroes Banner Program

The Northwestern Lehigh Veterans Memorial Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a tribute created to honor and recognize the brave men and women of the Northwestern Lehigh School District who are serving, or have honorably served, in the United States Armed Services
Eligibility: Any U.S. Veteran who served before, during, or after their residence in any of the four NW Lehigh School District townships of Lynn, Lowhill, Heidelberg or Weisenberg is eligible. U.S. Veterans buried in a cemetery located within one of the 4 townships, even though never a living resident, are also eligible
The banners measure 30″x 60″, are made of heavy vinyl, and are printed on both sides with the service member’s photograph, full name, military branch, and era of service and/or Military Medals. The banners will be proudly displayed in the township of your choice. The banners are warranted for two years and have an approximate life expectancy of four to five years. After the third year of display, the sponsor will be contacted to see if they would like to take possession of the banner, or have it displayed for an additional year, or until the banner gets too faded to be respectfully displayed
To sponsor a banner, the following are required:

- A completed NWLVM Hometown Heroes Application Form (available on our website at ‘nwlehighvetsmemorial.org’ – or by using your smart phone to access the “QR Code” to the right)
- A digital photo of the Hero in uniform or paper copy (photos will not be returned)
- Provide your name, phone number, email address, and township where you would like the banner displayed
- Payment of $250.00
After submittal, a Veteran representative from your township will contact you to approve the ‘draft’ banner before it is printed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Who is eligible?
Any U.S. Veteran who served before, during, or after their residence in any of the four NW Lehigh School District townships of Lynn, Lowhill, Heidelberg or Weisenberg is eligible. U.S. Veterans buried in a cemetery located within one of the 4 townships, even though never a living resident, are also eligible.
2. How long will the banner be displayed?
Upon reaching the 3-year anniversary of the banner being displayed, the sponsor will be contacted to see if they would like to take possession of the banner and possibly sponsor a replacement banner at the then-current price, or, if the banner is still in good condition, leave it up for another year. Same thing at subsequent years. If at any time the banner becomes too faded or damaged to be respectfully displayed, it will be removed and the sponsor again will be contacted to see if they want to take possession and sponsor a replacement banner at the then-current price.
3. What happens if the banner gets damaged?
The banner has a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty year warrantee for any manufacturing defects, but does not cover damage due ‘Acts of God’ or vandalism etc. If damage occurs before the initial 3-year term, The committee will work with you to get the best price possible for a replacement banner. No discounts are possible after 3 years of display.
4. Can the sponsor determine where the banner will be displayed?
Each township will determine where the banners will be displayed within their respective townships. You will be assigned to a township-veteran representative who will coordinate its display location with you.
5. Can two, or more, family members be placed on the same pole?
Every effort will be made to accommodate these requests, however there is no guarantee.
6. Is there a discount for purchasing more than 1,2,3, etc. banners?
No, sorry.
7. Can the submitted picture be digital or paper?
Digital is preferred, but we can take a paper version, but the paper version will not be returned.
8. Is there a required quality for submitted pictures i.e. minimum pixels, size, color or black and white?
Usually, a picture taken by a smart-phone or scanned by a printer/scanner should be good. Please send the highest resolution that you can. The better the quality pic sent will yield a better-quality banner.
9. What type of picture?
A picture of the veteran in their Military Uniform is desired. The veterans Basic Training headshot or similar official military photo is ideal.
10. Can a spouse who “served at home” during deployment separations be included in the picture?
Although we recognize the sacrifices of families and spouses who ‘served at home’, these memorials are created for the Veteran.
11. What happens if there is a spelling mistake, or another mistake on the banner?
The SPONSOR will be contacted to approve the banner BEFORE the manufacturer prints it. Please check it carefully before approving as NO corrections can be made once printed.
12. Must the veteran on the banner be a resident of one of the Townships?
See FAQ #1 above
13. When will they be installed?
Orders will be placed within a month after the Round 1/Round 2 deadlines, with installation planned to be completed by the subsequent Veterans Day/Memorial Day events.
